(...And where the plot gets kind of ridiculous, but eh, let's overlook that for now.)

Role:

1. Apprentice: You have been chosen as one who will wield the weapon of legend, the Keyblade. You’ve been trained for the day when you’ll stand up to what endangers the worlds. Is today the day?
2. Master: You have proven yourself truly worthy of the Keyblade. You have been entrusted with the secrets behind the worlds themselves. Do you fight to keep them safe? Do you use your powers to travel the worlds, or do you stay on your own? Have you chosen another to take your place one day?
3. Wielder by chance: You were never formally chosen by another to become a Keyblade wielder. Yet, somehow, it’s been passed to you all the same. Maybe you inherited the blade by accident, maybe its destined wielder couldn’t play their role, maybe something even stranger occurred. Still. It’s yours now. Can you rise to the challenge?
4. Prince(ss) of Heart: You are a child of light itself. One of precious few in all the worlds who can truly say that they are naturally devoid of all darkness in their hearts. But this might be a mixed blessing: who out there might think your heart is …useful?
5. Villain: You’re one of the bad guys. ‘Nuff said. Are your ambitions more local, or do you seek to bring darkness to the worlds as a whole? Did someone talk to you to make you a promise, or did the darkness itself do it?
6. Nobody/Organization XIII: Your heart has been taken. Your true self, your emotions. You live on memory and instinct alone, searching for a way out of your predicament… but perhaps one’s closer than you imagine? Still, you get a sweet weapon and powers out of the deal. Maybe a spiffy coat, too. Just watch for what comes with that last part.
7. Guest star: You’re not part of this whole keyslinging circle. But it doesn’t mean you haven’t been pulled into this mess. Your world’s been touched by what’s going on - are there Heartless or Unversed running around here? Or something else?
8. Other: You’re … okay, a wildcard. Have at it.

World: Due to the nature of Kingdom Hearts, and the sheer number of worlds, it’s impractical to list the lot in this meme… instead, the canon worlds can be found here!
However, for those more adventurous, there’s also those in the wider Disney canon, such as here...
Or just feel free to let your imagination roam! Is there anywhere that it’d be fun to take things?

Scenarios:

1. First summoning: So you’ve just gotten your hands on your shiny new Keyblade for the first time. What’s going on? How did you get it?
2. In training: This hero business isn't as glamorous as it might be made out to be. You've got to practice sometime, haven't you? No use throwing someone inexperienced in at the deep end ... wait.
3. Heartless fighting: Doesn’t have to be Heartless. You might be fighting Unversed, Nobodies or Dream Eaters… what’s important is that there’s some critter of the darkness that needs taking down, and quickly.
4. Mark of Mastery: Now’s the time to prove yourself. You’ve been offered the chance to finally become a Keyblade Master. What’s going on? Is this a formal test? Have you been sent off on a quest? Do you have what it takes?
5. Just chilling: Sometimes, even with all this going on, there are times to relax. Goof off. Play some games, eat some ice cream…
6. Power of ~Friendship~: We stand together! Time for dramatic speeches and having the bonds between hearts show their worth. You couldn’t get this far on your own.
7. Falling to the darkness: The light’s not enough. Whatever the darkness has promised you - power, knowledge, the chance to expand your boundaries - you’ve jumped on that chance. Or was something more subtle at work here?
8. On a mission: Whatever group or Organization you’re part of, they want you somewhere and they want you there now. It could be anything.
9. Other: Anything missing?

[She doesn't know how she got here, exactly. One minute, the darkness is swallowing everything. Everything, and her loved ones are nowhere to be found. And she's falling, and she's not sure she can take it.

But she does, and she lands somewhere - she knows not where. But she's so dizzy, it's hard to make out very much, and she blinks blearily up at a boy who appears to be around her age.]

Where am I...?

[Just another day...

Xeha's used to the way this world works, of course; used to the way that it gathers those lost to itself, as he and his friends had once been. But it's never exactly good to see someone new, given what he knows it means.

He extends a hand to her.]

This place is called Traverse Town.

[She accepts the boy's hand, standing up and shaking her head to clear it.]

Thank you. But... however did I get here? [And where is everyone else?]

[He could give her every little detail. But now isn't the time.]

What's the last thing you remember before you arrived here?

[Maribelle begins following him, looking around with alarm. This place is nothing like her home.]

I remember... darkness. [And the giant monster that appeared to be made out of shadow itself, which she, Lissa, Frederick and Chrom had fought against before they all disappeared. She can only pray that they're alright.]

[Xeha nods. That sounds to be about the norm, after all...]

You would. Darkness... it threatens many worlds.

[He closes his eyes, sighs - this never really gets any easier to tell someone after all.]

I'm sorry. You are safe here - but for you to have come here, your world must already be lost in the shadows.

No!

[The word bursts out of her before she realizes what she's said, and she stares at him in shock.]

There must be some way to save them.

[She feels sick. All the people she loves, everywhere she's ever been... it can't be gone.]

[He can't blame her in the slightest. Looking down for a moment, then back up-]

There must be. You're right. And I intend to find it.

Then I shall come with you.

[Her tone is firm, and brooks no argument.]

I cannot simply stand idle while my home is lost, and my people are suffering - or worse. Moreover, I cannot allow this fate to befall others.

[Xeha raises an eyebrow, but smiles faintly.]

Despite the dangers? Despite everything that might happen?

Yes. I am skilled in magic, especially healing spells. I'm certain I can be of great help on this journey.

That's good to hear. In that case...

[Suddenly, there's a lot more warmth to his smile.]

Come on! I don't know if the others are around, but hopefully, they should be. I'll explain the details as we go.

[Maribelle manages a smile of her own as she follows him, a glimmer of hope beginning to find her.]

Goodness, do forgive my manners. I am Maribelle. And yourself?

[He just gives a nod at her excusing herself - when he's dealt with Braig his whole life, that hardly counts as anything like 'rude'.]

Xehanort. Most people just call me Xeha. It's a pleasure to meet you... though I wish it didn't have to be under these circumstances.

[She will probably never call him Xeha, but she smiles politely, nonetheless.]

Charmed, I'm sure. [And then her smile fades.] And so do I.

[She just hopes everyone she knows and loves isn't dead.]

[His own does somewhat, and he sighs. A little quiet for a moment, before he goes on speaking, leading the way through town.]

My own world was lost when I was younger. It was the very first... I barely remember it.

Oh, you poor thing! I'm so terribly sorry.

[Then it really is more than just her own world which has been swallowed.]

[He smiles, again, but it's a thoughtful and saddened one.]

It's what it is. I came to terms with it long ago. At least I have my friends by my side - we've been working on ways to prevent more worlds from falling, and to discover the truth of why they continue to fall.

I... do remember a shadow - a beast I and my comrades had to fight off. And a strange figure near a doorway I had never seen before. Unfortunately, I did not see who it was.

[But maybe - just maybe - there's a clue of some sort there.]

[A gentle sigh, there. He's not surprised at the first - but the second? Hmm.]

That creature would be what we call a Heartless. Do you remember any details about it? Or anything at all about the doorway and your ... visitor?

Only that it was large and seemed to tear my very world to shreds. [She chokes on her words, fiercely blinking back tears as she does so.]

I do remember thinking that I should have been able to see the doorway before - it was in a place I had visited many times before. But the visitor? No. Whomever it was had covered themselves in a robe, and said nothing - at least to me.

[He nods, slowly, sympathetically, at the first.]

Take it easy. I see, though. There are many mysteries we've yet to unravel, but I've ... encountered strange doorways before.

You... you have?

[How queer. Perhaps there's some connection?]

And were they like mine, then?

[Something that should have been obvious, but wasn't? And why had she only seen it on the very day her world had disappeared?]

[He's thoughtful for a bit.]

It seems similar, at least. And I've heard other people speak of ones like it.

Then surely this must be linked, somehow.

[She frowns.]

But goodness, where to start? I haven't even the foggiest idea as to where we should begin.
