...'nuff said.
No, seriously, this is just a 'what if' post for characters who weren't in line for Illuminant shenanigans in Syn canon for whatever reason (wrong side of Jaunt, other plot issues, just didn't feel like it, anything else) to get pulled in and have some multicoloured fun.
This is not intended to impose on/upstage the game canon events, just having some good clean skittlenanigans!
Make things up, go wild! There's a rough 'everyone got wiped/re-sourced at the end of Cursed Kingdom' assumption here but apart from that, everything's open to mess with~
(You put that many superpowerful fae magical incarnations in one spot, looks like timelines get a bit wonky now and then?)

Green walks through it all with a look of absolute contentment.

What's passing for the house isn't obvious, which means it's most likely in that cluster of trees somewhere. There's a garden, so there must be living quarters for something bigger than a small animal somewhere nearby.
no subject
The exact nature of the trees is easier to see on closer inspection; branches and leaves weave together, creating walls and floors for a comfortable little residence, where the same flowers as fill the garden still grow freely. Nothing grand, but it's all that he needs or wants.
Some might need their towers, or even their libraries. But he's in the heart of what he is, here. Why overcomplicate things?
(Well... maybe he could make things a little bigger, nicer, more eyecatching. But that can come with time.)

Goodness knows those two can get... contentious, when they put their minds to it.

further generic skittlenanigans
In any case, while he's easiest to find in the Magicians' and Academy Quarters, he can be found in most parts of the city at one time or another. He knows where he's most likely to find an apprentice, should one catch his interest - but there are cousins who still need brought back into things, and he's well suited to finding good vessels for two of them, being between their colors. There's no guarantee either of them would stay holed up in a library, either, so he has to broaden his search.
There's also the matter of the dragon, but he's far more likely to drop a brick on it and have done with it. Compared to reviving the family, that's something of a trifle. (Other differences between Nacio and Indigo: a certain level of academic detachment.)
no subject
For the most part, he can be found where the city's at its liveliest; Festival and Adventure quarters are his usual favourite haunts, where the air's filled with hopes and dreams and he dives in and out listening to the stories. ...Occasionally lending a hand if a fight goes too far in the latter, where the act won't blow his cover.
He can be seen all over, though, among mages and apprentices and traders, talking to anyone he can find with no sign of becoming disheartened by the search (how could he?); and when a change of pace is needed, he'll be in the Gardens, just quietly enjoying the feeling of the life around him there, sights and sounds and scents. Something a little more subdued and peaceful.
(...And those who know their way can find him in another garden altogether.)
Naoto - Violet
A few days later, there's a strange new figure in town. Some say he's a prince, some say he's a scholar, some say they don't know, but he's the life of the party. What everyone does know about this person still calling themselves Naoto is that they have to be some kind of displaced royal. Now bedecked in almost entirely purple still with the ever-present hat and a cape that he seems to use to great effect, he's on the move, looking for people, and enjoying himself immensely.
no subject
It only becomes clear as he sees Naoto in the crowds that there's no need for persuasion any longer. How this has happened? He can't be sure. Surprises aren't so much his field. But it's a wonderful sign in any case...
"You always knew how t' make an entrance, huh?" he asks, as the ebbs and flows of the event leave them in position to speak with each other.
no subject
He glances around, however, the cockiness abates slightly, and he leans against the wall. "So, how many of our number have returned? What's the situation?" He has a trump card that he's just dying to let out, but he'll wait for now.
no subject
The grin's just about infectious, but his own reply's a little bit quietened down for the moment. "Five that I knew about until you showed up, including myself: Orange got lucky - man, you really should see him now - and picked the first few of us up again. Myself 'n Indigo came back together, Yellow didn't wait too long either. All thanks to those Dolorosan dragon-hunters, of all people..." He shrugs. "Even Rose's been through changes, but she's fine from what I've heard. Got someone else we're lookin' to have a word with for Red's sake, but ain't found anyone for sure who's gonna work with Blue."
Ah, well. It's a temporary setback, he knows that much. "Mostly, we're just keepin' our ears open. Working things out as we're goin' along."
no subject
"They are back as well. This vessel is one of theirs." His voice is quiet too. "This one has been keeping notes that I am attempting to decipher."
no subject
"We'd heard of some suspicious types wanderin' around, but if you're saying they're those..."
He runs a hand down his face. Ugh, for once he really wishes that Violet's making things up. "We've barely had a couple of weeks! And they came for us now?" Sigh. "Still. If you're here, they've stabbed themselves in the back," he says, with an amusement that's shading a little warm - "They shoulda thought interferin' through better. And you say you've got notes?"
no subject
Still, one less vessel to find is good news.
no subject
"It is good to see you again. I have seen Green already, and he has told me some of what is going on."
no subject
"In that case, you're fairly well caught up, I should say. Nice hat."
Re: Naoto - Violet
The woman in rose-trimmed mourning clothes, with rose streaks in her black hair, smiles at Violet as she makes her way toward him. She reaches up to caress his cheek lightly. "It's a good look for you."

Or, rather, trying hard to murder you with far too many arrows and unfortunately succeeding.
As herself, Rose doesn't remember much between then and waking up again in her rose garden. As the hedgemage Thorn, a minor practitioner of her hue, who'd gone on the run when her rather more learned master had been slain under the suspicions that he was the Rose Illuminant--an irony, that--she remembers more and would quite like to ignore all of it, until the part when she stumbled upon a funny little boy with a dragon scale in place of his heart.
She has yet to dress completely in her hue, incorporating trim and embellishments of a rosier nature into the black mourning dress of her vessel. But there are streaks of pink in the vessel's dark hair and she moves with a certain grace that the woman, Thorn, never had.
She can be found all around Misericordia, drinking in the city, although if she lingers in the Veiled District... well, it is a place of sensation. And once in a while even love.
